“I was extremely nervous to join a group exercise class however, Stu has eased all that worry. He has been friendly, welcoming and most importantly supportive from day one. Motivating us as individuals and as a group with different capabilities to push ourselves each session. Can't recommend him enough!”

Questions

Everything you might be wondering.

Will I be the least fit person there?

Almost certainly not. And it genuinely wouldn’t matter if you were.

Everything gets scaled on the night, so a total beginner trains next to someone who’s been coming for months and both of them get a proper session. Nobody is watching you. They’re all busy trying to breathe.

What’s the first class actually like?

An hour outdoors, with a mix of cardio and resistance work using dumbbells, kettlebells and sandbags. I coach it, I scale it, and I’ll keep an eye on you the whole way through.

Come five minutes early and say hello. That’s it.

Do I need to be able to run?

No. That’s something we can build towards over time but to start with a fast march, an uphill walk or a weighted carry can be switched in instead.

How many people come?

Spaces are capped at fifteen so everyone gets coached properly. And although class numbers vary, I’ll go ahead if I have one person signed up, or fifteen.

Do I book, or can I just turn up?

Book. Spaces are capped, it takes under a minute and there’s no account to create.

Is the first one really free?

Yes, 100% free. Choose that option when you book.

What if it rains?

We train! A bit of rain is fine, just bring a jacket.

But if it’s genuinely unsafe I’ll call it off in good time and your fiver is refunded automatically. No emails, no chasing.

Where is it and where do I park?

We use the field opposite Fellside Primary School.

What do I bring?

Trainers, water and a jacket if it’s grim. All the kit is provided.

Can I bring a friend?

Please do. Their first class is free too, so it costs them nothing to come and see what it’s like.

Plus, having a friend might make your first class even more enjoyable.

What if I’ve got an injury?

Tell me before we start and I’ll give you a different option for anything that aggravates it. That’s the whole point of scaling.

How old do I need to be?

At least 18 years old. No maximum age!

Do I have to come every week?

No. Pay as you go and book whichever nights suit you.

If you find you’re coming most weeks, the class pass works out cheaper; ten classes for £45.

Is this just for people who are already fit?

No. That’s the whole reason it exists.

Fitness should be for everyone, and a lot of people are put off by gyms and by classes that assume you already know what you’re doing. This one doesn’t.

What if I hate it?

Then you’ve lost an hour and nothing else, because the first one is free. Come and find out.

Want the attention on just you? I also do one to one personal training at a private garage studio in Whickham, £35 an hour.

Enjoyed it and want more than a class a week? That's what personal training and online programming are for.
